This year marks the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth events begin with a pageant at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lions Club Senior Center.

A parade is at 6 p.m. Friday, with lineup at 5 p.m. at City Hall, 101 N. College St., Killeen.

Gospel Fest, featuring the River City Christianettes, starts at 8 p.m. Friday at the Killeen Amphitheater behind the Killeen Community Center, 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd.

On Saturday, worship service with Pastor David Norman of Magnolia Baptist Church will be at 10 a.m. at the Killeen Community Center followed by a picnic at 12:30 p.m.
