Three members of the Killeen Independent School District’s Board of Trustees filed paperwork to run for re-election in May.

Official filing documents showed that current board of trustees president Shelley Wells, as well as members Susan Jones and Corbett Lawler, all filed to run for their seats on the board in the upcoming May 11 elections. Wells, Jones and Lawler are running for Places 1, 2 and 3, respectively.

Jones filed her paperwork with the district Tuesday, the same day the trustees voted to call for the election. Wells and Lawler filed to run Wednesday.

The seven members of the district’s board of trustees serve at-large and are elected to three-year terms. As of Wednesday, no one had filed to run against any of the three incumbent board members.

Other races for the May elections include Killeen City Council, Harker Heights City Council and the Central Texas College board of trustees.

The deadline to file for the election is March 1.
