Four juveniles ran into a wooded area, climbed a chain-link fence with barbed wire and escaped from the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center about 9 a.m. Saturday. Two of the teens were apprehended by police shortly after 2 p.m. when officials received a tip from a woman who saw the boys changing clothes. A foot chase led to the capture of two teens, but the other two were at-large Saturday night.

The Killeen Police Department received a call at 8:47 a.m. in reference to several teenagers escaping the detention center, located in the 4800 block of East Rancier Avenue, according to a news release.

Upon the officers’ arrival, employees told them the juveniles were in the indoor recreation area when there appeared to be an altercation. Four of the juveniles ran toward an exterior door that led to an unsecured area, kicked it open and escaped through the fence.

KPD continues to search for the two remaining suspects, between 15 and 17 years old. Their names have not been released, since they are minors.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts should call CrimeStoppers at (254) 526-8477, go to www.bellcountycrimestoppers.com or text BELLCO along with the tip to 274637.
