Killeen police are asking for the victim of a hit-and-run and other witnesses to contact the detective in a stolen vehicle and robbery case.

Just after 5 p.m. Feb. 13, officers were notified of a vehicle theft in the 400 block of Gilmer Street, according to a news release. The owner told police his silver 2009 Chevy pickup was stolen by a black man wearing black clothing.

After the incident, police received reports of a hit-and-run in the area of 10th Street and Avenue D. A short while later, another hit-and-run involving the stolen truck and a yellow pickup occurred at 10th Street and Veterans Memorial Boulevard, police said. After a pursuit, the man driving the stolen truck was arrested.

Detective Kevin Tramp is asking the driver of the yellow pickup and the driver and passenger of a white Chevy Monte Carlo who may have witnessed the first hit-and-run to call him at (254) 501-8830 so he can gather more evidence in the case.
