The southbound lanes of Interstate 35 in Salado will be closed starting at 7 p.m. Tuesday near Farm-to-Market 2268, weather permitting. The contractor will place the deck for the new FM 2268 bridge, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. The southbound lanes will be closed three or four hours.

About 9 p.m., the northbound lanes of I-35 will be closed at the same location for three or four hours.

Southbound traffic will leave the freeway at exit 283 to the frontage road and re-enter the mainlanes south of FM 2843. The southbound off-ramp at exit 284 and on-ramp near Thomas Arnold Road will be closed.

Northbound traffic will exit the freeway at exit 283 to the frontage road and re-enter the freeway north of FM 2268. The northbound off-ramp at exit 282 will be closed.

All freeway lanes and the affected ramps will be reopened by 7 a.m. Wednesday.
