A Cedar Park doctor is throwing her hat into the ring to run for Congress next year, representing the Killeen-Fort Hood area.

Democrat Christine Eady Mann, a family practice physician, is kicking off her campaign today to run for the Texas District 31 seat at an event from 10 a.m. to noon at 160 Mercury Cove in Leander.

Mann has practiced family medicine in Central Texas for 18 years.

John Carter, R-Round Rock, is the current District 31 representative.

The primary election is March 6, and the general election is Nov. 6, 2018.
