Local Spec’s liquor store customers can breath a sigh of relief. Information provided by the company showed that its Killeen and Temple locations were not among the stores involved in an online attack that compromised some customers’ personal information.

According to a statement on the Houston-based company’s website, the attack affected 34 stores in College Station, Corpus Christi, El Paso and the Houston area.

According to the company, malicious software was found on the computer systems at those 34 locations. Compromised data included payment card information such as names, credit or debit card numbers, card expiration dates and card security codes. Bank account numbers, bank routing numbers, birth dates and driver’s license numbers were also possibly compromised.

The attacks appear to have begun Oct. 31, 2012, and continued through March 20.
