A man was rescued after climbing a Killeen water tower Friday afternoon.

According to a post on the Killeen Professional Fire Fighters’ Association Facebook page, the Killeen Fire Department’s Technical Rescue Team responded to a call Friday afternoon about a man who had climbed about 40 feet up one leg of the water tower on Park Street.

Killeen police negotiated with the man, who eventually agreed to come down with the help of the rescue technicians, according to the association.

The man, who was not identified, was safely removed from the tower without injury.

Calls to the Killeen Police Department and the Killeen Fire Department on Saturday for more information were not immediately returned.
