The Bell County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate a shooting incident that took place early Monday morning.

A resident in the home on Shaw Lane just south of Killeen in Bell County told investigators the power was cut to his house, and someone kicked in the back door and entered the home.

The resident fired two shots at the man. A second man trying to get in the front door ran away, but was later found by law enforcement personnel.

In a statement released Tuesday afternoon, sheriff’s department spokesman Lt. Donnie Adams said the man who was shot was treated and released from the hospital.

No arrests have been made, Adams said.
