The Army Corps of Engineers will conduct a public meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. today to discuss potential winter closure plans for some of the parks by Belton and Stillhouse Hollow lakes. The meeting will be at the Harris Conference Center, 401 N. Alexander St., Belton

The Army Corps of Engineers is considering a plan that would alter the parks’ seasonal schedules by shutting down underused areas from Oct. 1 to March 1, said Ronnie Bruggman, Army Corps of Engineers lakes manager for Belton and Stillhouse Hollow lakes.
