In honor of National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month in October, the Sue Mayborn Women’s Center at Metroplex Hospital will host its annual remembrance service for all those who have experienced a miscarriage or loss of a child.

This year’s service will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the lobby of the Ambulatory Surgery Center on the west side of the hospital, 2201 S. Clear Creek Road.

The private ceremony includes a few words from hospital staff, members of clergy, music, prayers, poems and the release of live monarch butterflies.

The focus of the service is to provide an emotional outlet in a healing atmosphere, where families can support one another as a group. The ceremony takes place annually with the help of staff and volunteers who organize the event.

Metroplex Hospital extends an invitation to all individuals and families who have experienced a loss of an infant or child. Call 254-519-8567 to RSVP.
