Candidates for the May 6 Killeen City Council and Killeen Independent School District elections will take part in a “speed” forum Monday at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9191.
The forum will be modeled on “speed dating,” with each candidate having his or her own table and residents cycling through the candidates every 3 minutes.
According to TaNeika Driver, the executive committee member for the Killeen branch of the NAACP, the event will allow residents a more personal interaction with the candidates than previous forums. Residents who attend the event can speak with candidates individually or in groups, depending on their preferences.
The event will open its doors at 5:30 p.m. at 377 Zephyr Road with a meet-and-greet with the candidates.
The forum is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
