BELTON — Thanks to a coating the city is placing on some streets, drivers will no longer have to worry about steering around potholes, cracks and similar hazards. However, drivers will have to keep an eye out occasionally for construction crews repairing the roads.
The seal coating, which comprises asphalt, emulsion and various rock chips, will be spread over four roads maintained by the city and county: West Drive, Old Golf Course Road, and the east and west ends of Auction Barn Road. The coating will be applied on the roads in May, and work will last about a day on each road.
The cost of the project is about $17,000, including the striping that will be replaced on Old Golf Course Road.
