Officials ID soldier found unresponsive at home

Fort Hood officials identified a soldier who was found unresponsive Wednesday at his Killeen residence. Circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.

Chief Warrant Officer-5 Terry Lyndel Brewer, 48, of Putman, entered active-duty service in December 1986. He was an aviator with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, since March 2011.

Brewer deployed to Iraq from March 2004 to March 2005, October 2006 to January 2008 and from May 2009 to May 2010. He also deployed to Afghanistan from May 2011 to May 2012.

His awards and decorations include two Bronze Star Medals, two Meritorious Service Medals, five Air Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, nine Army Achievement Medals, an Army Good Conduct Medal, two National Defense Service Medals, five Iraqi Campaign Medals with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medals, Korean Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, an Army Service Ribbon, four Overseas Service Ribbons, Driver and Mechanic Badge and Aviation Badge and Master Army Aviator Badge.
