Central Texas College recently announced its online alternative high school, Open Academy, will now be known as the CTC Open Academy.

Offered through CTC’s operating unit, American Preparatory Institute, the CTC Open Academy is a fully-accredited alternative high school offering an online self-paced, open entry/open exit virtual high school program based on API curriculum. It provides students with the capability to work on courses from any device with an Internet connection.

“CTC has a long history of providing accessible college programs and also reaching out to high school-age students through dual credit and the API program,” Chancellor Thomas Klincar said. “The name change to CTC Open Academy reflects our desire to strengthen the connection between CTC and our excellence in distance education opportunities for high school students.”

The CTC Open Academy is ideal for students seeking to complete or resume a high school diploma program, and is also open to those who have a G.E.D. but wish to obtain a high school diploma.
