McLennan County sheriff’s deputies arrested three men Monday night who they believe were attempting to transport drugs to Killeen and Fort Hood.

Deputies stopped a vehicle on State Highway 317 near McGregor about 9:30 p.m., officials said.

Inside the vehicle, they found between 3 and 5 pounds of marijuana, as well as firearms, officials said.

When asked where they were transporting the drugs, the men told the deputies they planned on taking them to the “Fort Hood area,” officials said.

The case is still under investigation.
