The 58th annual Texas Indian Hobbyist Association’s summer powwow is June 20-21 at the Bell County Expo Center in Belton.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. both days.

A business meeting starts at 1 p.m. June 20. A covered- dish supper will start at 5 p.m. both days.

A Gourd Dance starts at 2:30 p.m., and the Grand Entry Southern Night begins at 7 p.m. June 20.

The June 21 schedule is: an auction at 10 a.m., a craft contest at noon, Youth Powwow at 1 p.m., a Gourd Dance at 2:30 p.m. and the Grand Entry Northern Night at 7 p.m. A hand drum contest will be held during the Youth Powwow.

All contestants must belong to the association. All dance contests award ribbons only.

The powwow is open to the public, and there is no charge to attend.
