Copperas Cove Animal Control officials found a rabies-infected skunk near a home on West Washington Street on Oct. 16. Officials learned the animal tested positive for rabies Wednesday after results came back from the Texas Department of Health in Austin.

Anyone who thinks their pet or knows of an animal that may have been exposed to a skunk or other wild animal is asked to call animal control at 254-547-5584 or the police department at 254-547-8222.
