Scouts offering camp this summer for boys, girls

Boy Scouts of America Leon Valley District, Longhorn Council will offer its annual Cub Scout Day Camp this summer at the Central Texas College for all registered Cub Scouts and American Heritage Girls in first through fifth grades.

The cost is $85. Online registration is already in progress, Camp Director George Covert said. Financial aid is available but limited.

The Day Camp meets from 3 to 8:30 p.m. June 9-13 behind the Central Texas College physical fitness center. The theme is Cub Scouts of the Round Table (medieval or renaissance).

On the first day, the safety brief and opening remarks will start at 2 p.m.

Activities include viewing of various theme-oriented displays, BB rifle and archery ranges, swimming, construction crafts, programs at the planetarium, and other activities and games.
