Senior center plans holiday cook-off

The Bob Gilmore Senior Center is hosting The Taste of Christmas Cook-off at 11:15 a.m. Thursday. This month, the cook-off ingredient is peppermint.

Prizes awarded for first, second and third place.

Butterbean auction starts at 9:15 a.m. Friday. Forty beans for each item you bring.

The Red Hats’ annual Christmas party begins at 1 p.m. Friday at the Gilmore Center.

Bring a gift for the gift exchange. New members welcome.

Cookie exchange is at 11:30 a.m. Monday. Rules are bring a dozen, take a dozen, bring two dozen, take two dozen, etc. Bring a container to take cookies home.

Wednesdays, learn the art of solving a Sudoku puzzle from 10:30 to 11 a.m. from Linda Wells, a retired Harker Heights Elementary School teacher.

Christmas movie shown daily at 12:15 p.m. with the exception of Thursdays. Popcorn served.

The senior center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 2205 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd., Killeen.
