During a Monday morning news conference, Bell County Sheriff Eddy Lange said his department was close to making arrests in the August slaying of Angie Leigh Rogers.

Rogers, 23, was reported missing July 27, according to the Killeen Police Department. Her body was discovered in August in a field south of the intersection of Chaparral and West Trimmier roads in south Killeen.

The Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas reported Rogers died of a gunshot wound.

Lange said investigators had developed some prime suspects, and he expected the case to come to a conclusion by the end of this week or sometime within the following week.
