Sheriff’s deputies need help identifying vehicle

Bell County Sheriff’s Department investigators need the public’s help identifying a vehicle that may have been used in the homicide of Jack Ray near Killeen.

Witnesses reported seeing a medium-size blue passenger vehicle in the area of Ray’s home Oct. 11, the afternoon before he was found dead. The vehicle was seen either in the driveway or on the shoulder of Farm-to-Market 439 in the 17600 block where Ray lived.

Ray may have been killed that afternoon or evening, a news release from the sheriff’s department stated.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or Ray’s homicide should call Bell County Crime Stoppers at 254-526-8477, go to, or call the sheriff’s department hotline at 254-933-5539. All tips are confidential and can be made anonymously. If a caller wishes to speak to an investigator, leave a name and contact information.
