Several Army units at Fort Hood were placed on lockdown Friday morning after rumors surfaced of a possible shooter, officials said.

The lockdown was implemented about 9:30 a.m., according to a statement from Fort Hood.

Several units near Hood Army Airfield were placed on lockdown because of a rumor of “an active shooter,” according to the statement.

Directorate of Emergency Services personnel responded, and determined there was no threat.

Units resumed normal activities.
