Soldier gets 10 years in sex assault case

FORT HOOD — A Fort Hood soldier was sentenced to 10 years in military prison after being found guilty of multiple counts of sexual assault of a child.

A military judge sentenced Sgt. Timothy Chad Bailey to 10 years of confinement at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., Friday, for five counts of sexual assault, Fort Hood spokesman Chris Haug said.

Bailey will be dishonorably discharged. He remained in Bell County Jail on Wednesday awaiting extradition to a military prison. He was a member of the 36th Engineer Brigade.
