COPPERAS COVE — About 1,500 people in Copperas Cove were without power for about two hours Wednesday morning.

Oncor Area Manager Karl Green said a squirrel caused an outage centered around the 200 block of Avenue D when the animal made contact with a power line. Contact with the line caused a fuse to blow shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday. Power was restored by 10:45 a.m.

The squirrel did not survive.
