More than 100 soldiers are scheduled to relocate to Fort Hood possibly as early as this summer, Army officials said.

The Defense Department approved the planned relocation of the 11th Signal Brigade Headquarters from Fort Huachuca, Ariz., to Fort Hood on Monday.

The brigade has been aligned with III Corps since Oct. 16, 2009, and has two battalions at Fort Hood: the 57th and 62nd Signal Battalions. It has one other battalion at Fort Huachuca and another at Fort Bliss.

The move is tentatively scheduled to take place by July, but it could be delayed to summer 2014, the release stated.

The 11th Signal Brigade Headquarters executes mission command of signal battalions and provides network operations for communications networks, information systems and Information Assurance/Computer Network Defense for operational forces worldwide.
