A two-hour standoff between a 23-year-old Killeen man and Killeen police ended peacefully about 5 p.m. Saturday.

Officers responded to a 911 call about a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of Leslie Circle, according to a Killeen Police Department news release. Neighbors told officers a woman was screaming and trying to leave the residence when a man pulled her back inside.

Officers attempted to make contact with him, but the man refused to open the door, according to the release.

The Tactical Response Unit was deployed and a crisis negotiation team spoke with the man for two hours. The man, whose name is being withheld pending a review of the case by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office, was taken into custody.

The woman was treated by Killeen Fire Department paramedics and transported to Metroplex Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
