The Texas Department of Transportation plans the following lane closures along U.S. Highway 190 in Killeen from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. this week:

  • Monday: The Willow Springs Bridge will be closed to all traffic. The contractor will eliminate striping/re-stripe and install a concrete traffic barrier to reduce bridge traffic to one lane each direction.
  • Tuesday: The outside (right) eastbound mainlane on U.S. 190 will be closed from Clear Creek to the Willow Springs overpass while the contractor installs a concrete traffic barrier on the outside shoulder.
  • Wednesday: The Willow Springs exit ramp and right lane of Spur 172 (the Fort Hood exit) will be closed while the contractor installs a concrete traffic barrier on the frontage road and at the Fort Hood exit. Eastbound U.S. 190 traffic will use the State Highway 195 turnaround.
  • Thursday: The right lane on the east- and westbound frontage roads will be closed from Willow Springs to State Highway 195 while the contractor installs a concrete traffic barrier on the frontage roads.

All closures are weather permitting, and TxDOT urges motorists to use caution in the area while crews continue work on the U.S. 190 lane expansion project.
