COPPERAS COVE — The Texas Department of Transportation will shift northbound and southbound traffic to the west side of Farm-to-Market 116 Saturday.

The move will allow construction of northbound lanes connecting State Highway 9 to FM 116 to continue. The contractor will install a concrete traffic barrier and restripe along the roadway from just north of the Cove Public Works office to just south of Anderson Avenue. Traffic will remain in this configuration until late spring, when the new northbound lanes are expected to be complete, according to a TxDOT news release.

The $32 million project to construct a new roadway as a northeast relief route around Copperas Cove is scheduled for completion this summer, weather permitting.
