The annual Texas Waterway Cleanup is Saturday, and Keep Killeen Beautiful is asking individuals and groups to help Killeen Up! the creek. Participants will meet at 8 a.m. in the Killeen Walmart parking lot, 1400 Lowe’s Boulevard. Volunteers gather for a group photo and to pick up supplies before spreading out along the banks of the creek to remove litter.

Also scheduled Saturday: A regional household hazardous waste collection event is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 301 Veterans Memorial Loop in Gatesville. Killeen residents are invited to drop off their poisonous, flammable and corrosive household materials for safe disposal. Tires, automotive fluid, paint, fluorescent lamps and electronics will be collected. A complete list of accepted materials is available at www.killeentexas.gov.
