Officials are investigating after a 58-year-old Florence woman’s body was pulled out of the Lampasas River south of Killeen on Saturday.
Bell County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle with suspicious circumstances on Gravel Crossing Road at 2:58 p.m. Saturday, a news released stated.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with fishermen who reported that they located a pickup truck on the roadway near the river, clothing on the river bank and a dog running around the area with a leash on, the release stated. A search was conducted by the Bell County Sheriff’s Department, Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens and park rangers with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. At 6:39 p.m., game wardens located a body in the river.
Judith K. Muntner was pronounced dead by Bell County Justice of the Peace Ted Duffield, who ordered an autopsy at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas.
