Local law enforcement responded to a bomb threat at Gateway Middle School early this morning.

A spokesperson for the Killeen Independent School District said the threat was phoned in to Bell County Emergency Dispatch before the start of the school day. While no children were in school at the time, students on busses were temporarily diverted to alternate sites along with Gateway staff.

Killeen police and the Killeen Independent School District’s own police force searched and cleared the school before students were sent back to the campus, where they resumed classes for the day.
