Military Order of the Cootie to gather

The Military Order of the Cootie, Pup Tent 13, will hold its monthly scratch at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8577, 1506 Veterans Ave., Copperas Cove.

Robertson Avenue plans VBS, jamboree

The Robertson Avenue Baptist Church plans a vacation Bible school from Sunday to Friday.

Children 4 years old through sixth-graders are invited.

Robertson Avenue Baptist Church will present a Good Old Gospel Music Jamboree from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday.

The event is held the second Saturday of each month; there will be plenty of music, food and fellowship.

If you are a singer or have a group who would like to share their gospel music, call Tommy Clark at (254) 289-9549 or (254) 338-2000 or the church office at (254) 547-3155. The church is located at 305 E. Robertson Ave. in Copperas Cove.

AARP chapter meets Monday

AARP Chapter 1359 will meet at noon Monday at Grace United Methodist Church. There will be a pot-luck lunch. All members and their guests are invited.

The church is located at 101 W. Avenue F in Copperas Cove.

Oak Hills Baptist Church to host VBS

Oak Hills Baptist Church is offering a vacation Bible school from 8:30 to 11:15 a.m. June 18-22. The church is located on the corner of Farm-to-Market 2657 and Boys Ranch Road. For more information or if you need a ride, call Bill Minton at (254) 547-5585.

Pidcoke Baptist Church offers VBS

Pidcoke Baptist Church will host vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. Bible stories, music, fun and games will be provided.

This year's theme is SonRise National Park where children will "explore" snow-capped mountains, thundering waterfalls, wildflower meadows and amazing animals.

During the school, children will learn to trust Jesus as their guide and savior.

Children in kindergarten through the sixth grade are invited.

Pidcoke Baptist Church is located between Gatesville and Copperas Cove on Farm-to-Market 116.

Senior center offers diabetes workshops

The Copperas Cove Senior Center is offering "Better Choices, Better Health" workshops with free diabetes self-management classes from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday.

The Copperas Cove Senior Center is at 1012 North Drive.
