Cove Fitness, formerly Ace Athletics, in Copperas Cove hosted the official ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday for its new facility.

Packed with pizza and balloons for the celebration, members from the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce and the fire department participated in the grand opening celebration.

The new facility, now located at 1013 W. U.S. Highway 190, is part of a redesign for the company. With a new building came a new name and image to give it the community feel, owner Paul Doyle said.

“It’s a much nicer, upgraded aerobics room … it’s a big upgrade,” Cove Fitness Childcare Manager Valerie King said.

“One of the good qualities is that we’re privately owned, so it more small town, upfront, personal-type feel,” King added.

The 15,000-square-feet facility offers patrons two tanning booths, a new whirlpool, cable TVs located on all cardio equipment, free childcare, a steam room, a pro shop, juice bar, a day spa and the express room, which gives patrons who are crunched for time a full-body, 30-minute workout.

“It’s a full-service health club,” Doyle said.

Workout classes offered include yoga, Pilates, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, step, aerobics, body sculpting and body pump.

King along with other Cove Fitness employees gave tours of the facility noting the services of the Cove Day Spa, which include permanent makeup, spray tans, teeth whitening, facials and waxing.

“The [membership] prices are reasonable and competitive for what the club offers,” Doyle said.
