Sorority welcomes 23 students into 'debutante' society

Twenty-three young women were formally introduced to society May 7 at the Plaza Hotel in Killeen during the Debutante Cotillion, sponsored by members of the Killeen Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.

The inductees include:

Alexius Esquivel Ahazariah Buckner, Ellison High School, daughter of Zelda and Claude Carson. She plans to attend Alabama A&M University and major in social work.

Amber Nichole Butts, Ellison High School, daughter of Charles and Shawanda Butts and Tracy Frasier. She plans to attend the University of North Texas and major in finance.

Desiree' LaShantee Cannon, Killeen High School, daughter of Dino and Daphne Cannon.

Jasmine Marie Carroll-King, Harker Heights High School, daughter of Norris and Evada King. She plans to attend the University of Texas at Arlington or Texas State University and major in pre-med.

Stephanie Michelle Clark, Ellison High School. She plans to attend the University of Houston and major in graphics design.

Rashawyn Davis, Killeen High School. She plans to attend the University of Texas at Arlington or the University of Houston and major in psychology.

Alexandria Epps, Shoemaker High School, daughter of Edward and Valerie Hall. She plans to attend the University of North Texas or another college in the East.

Danielle Josephine Gamble, Ellison High School, daughter of Lance and Pamela Gamble. She plans to attend Central Texas College before attending a university. She hopes to eventually receive a doctorate degree in biomedical engineering.

Shanitra Garrett, Killeen High School, daughter of Sgt. 1st Class Patrick S. Garrett and Rebecca L. Garrett. She plans to attend Texas State University and major in pre-physical therapy.

Devanna Graves, Shoemaker High School, daughter of Sgt. 1st Class Rosalind Graves-Mills and retired 1st Sgt. Alphonso Mills. She plans to attend the University of Texas at Arlington and major in hotel and restaurant management

Jennica Melissa Gray, Shoemaker High School, daughter of David and Gerda Gray. She plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin and pursue a double major in nursing and international relations.

Sha'Rhonda Hatchett, Shoemaker High School, daughter of James and Rhonda O'Neal and Barry and Jill Hatchett. She plans to attend Stephen F. Austin University and major in accounting.

Maria Monique Jeter, Harker Heights High School, daughter of Derrick and Rosemary Jeter. She plans to attend Texas Southern University and major in child psychology.

Wakesha Tarshea Keeler, Shoemaker High School. Her future plans includes attending Prairie View A&M University to major in psychology.

Alicia Marie Lacy, Killeen High School, daughter of Anthony and Yon Lacy. In college, she plans to major in communications.

Tiffany McJunkins, Shoemaker High School, daughter of Eric and Linda McJunkins. She plans to attend the University of Texas at Arlington and major in early childhood education.

LaMia Nate Presley, Ellison High School, daughter of Pamela Moore. She plans to attend Sam Houston State University or Angelo State University and double major in kinesiology and business.

Jaquenta Danielle Richard, Killeen High School, daughter of Albert and Darlene Richard. She plans to attend Texas State University and major in computer science or psychology.

Blair Nichole Simpson, Ellison High School, daughter of Greg and Iantha Simpson. She plans to attend Central Texas College before going on to the University of Texas at Austin. She plans to major in psychology.

La Toya Shantel Stevens, Ellison High School, daughter of Sabrina Bursh and Joseph Stevens. She plans to attend Prairie View A&M University and major in music education and psychology.

Celestine Kristy Tia, Shoemaker High School, daughter of Rudy and Mary-Brenda Tia. She plans to attend the University of Miami and major in either political science or public relations in the pre-law program.

Cherika Lenae Tillman, Shoemaker High School, daughter of Joe and Jennifer Gordon. She plans to attend Prairie View A&M University and major in nursing.
