The office of the Bell County Attorney confirmed Friday that it has filed charges against a local teenager who allegedly attacked a young boy near a Killeen school more than three months ago. The attack was caught on video.
Bell County Attorney James E. "Jim" Nichols said the charges were filed Thursday, and that the case would be pursued through the juvenile court system.
"The (Killeen) police referred up the case to us," said Nichols. "We reviewed it and charges were filed."
Because those involved are juveniles, Nichols said he could not reveal their names, nor any details about the case.
The charges were filed more than three moths after an online video surfaced of a fight occurred between the victim — a 13-year-old Liberty Hill Middle School student — and the unidentified attacker. According to the victim's mother, the fight occurred just outside the school, and resulted in her child's wrist breaking.
