COPPERAS COVE — The Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation board today approved an architect to design office renovations for a larger meeting room.
The board awarded architect contract to Cove-based EVstudio for about $15,000, for which the company will design and plan the renovations.
Initial plans for the remodel show a 100-seat meeting room that could accommodate Copperas Cove City Council meetings and planning and zoning gatherings.
Earlier this year, city officials verbally agreed to help the corporation pay for the renovations if the city could use the meeting room instead of its current meeting area at 507 S. Main St.
“It looks good, very different and that was the goal,” said Dan Yancey, the corporation’s chairman. “It is a much more efficient use of this space.”
