GATESVILLE - A Copperas Cove man remained in Coryell County Jail Tuesday after police arrested him for allegedly attacking six people with a knife.
Justice of the Peace Bill Price arraigned Billie Ray Anspach, 43, on six charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, setting his bond at $150,000.
Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 700 block of Michelle Drive about 11:40 a.m. Sunday, according to a Copperas Cove Police Department news release.
Anspach became upset when he couldn't find some of his tools and went into a bathroom to confront one of the six victims about the missing items, states the complaint.
When the first victim asked Anspach to calm down, the complaint states the suspect kicked the victim in the thigh and attempted to punch him in the face. A second victim grabbed Anspach from behind and "slammed him to the ground" to try and calm him; however, the suspect punched the second victim in the face, states the complaint.
At the time of the incident, four other victims were in the home and all of them gathered in the hallway outside the bathroom.
Anspach went to his bedroom, retrieved a knife and started swinging it at the people in the hallway and threatening them, states the complaint.
The six victims ran from the house and called the police while Anspach remained inside the residence, where he was detained.
