COPPERAS COVE — A Copperas Cove man was arrested early Friday morning when officers found plastic covered in a crystal substance in his pocket.

Lionel Vona Leslie was arrested after police noticed him walking down the street at 1:10 a.m. Friday in the 100 block of Wolfe Road. He was approached and asked for identification, according to police reports. He had no identification but he provided officers with his personal information. Officers asked if Leslie would consent to a search of his person and he agreed. Officers removed a cigarette packet from his pocket, which allegedly contained a piece of plastic filled with methamphetamine that weighed 0.3 grams with packaging, the police report said.

Leslie was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Judge William Price arraigned Leslie on $10,000 bond.
