A Copperas Cove man remained in the Coryell County Jail Monday on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child, stemming from an alleged incident three years ago.

Justice of the Peace Bill Price arraigned Michael Ellis Griggs, 20, of Copperas Cove after his arrest Friday on sexual assault and burglary of a vehicle charges. His bail was set at $10,000, according to the county jail roster.

A teenager told her mother on March 27 that she was sexually assaulted when she was 13 years old in April 2009 and accused Griggs of being her assailant, according to an arrest complaint.

The victim told investigators she was visiting a friend's house after school in Copperas Cove when she was attacked in a bedroom, stated the arrest document.
