A Copperas Cove man suspected of threatening a woman with a shotgun and tackling a police officer was indicted a second time by a Coryell County grand jury Nov. 22.

The grand jury indicted Darius Demettrius Mooney, 21, on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Mooney also was indicted on a charge of assault of a public servant in late October.

According to an arrest complaint, police answered a disturbance call at 11:52 p.m. Aug. 27 in the 100 block of Jason Drive. Police noticed several people fighting.

As police went to arrest one of the people, Mooney raced over to a police officer and jumped on his back, the complaint stated. Two other police officers then pulled Mooney to the ground and arrested him.

According to a second complaint, a female victim in the fight said Mooney pointed "a big gun" at her and questioned her about the whereabouts of her boyfriend. When the woman told Mooney to put the gun away, he reportedly said, "I don't care. I will ... kill you."

When Mooney was arrested, he received a $25,000 bond for the two charges from Justice of the Peace John Guinn. Mooney's bail was posted by Sept. 1.
