COPPERAS COVE – Copperas Cove police have arrested a suspect in a series of 13 vehicle burglaries that occurred overnight earlier this week on the northwest end of the city.

Police arrested 18-year-old Jory Enck of Copperas Cove on Wednesday in connection with the burglaries.

The 13 incidents all took place between Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning, said Lt. Daniel Austin with the Copperas Cove police. The stolen items consisted of assorted electronics such as GPS and MP3 players.

Police were investigating after the burglaries were reported Wednesday when detectives received a tip from patrol officers about the suspect. A search of Enck's residence turned up items that linked him to the burglaries.

Detectives also found property that had not been reported stolen and believe there may be more victims who may not have reported a crime yet, Austin said Friday.

"The vehicles were not broken into, they were all left open, so people may not even be aware that they are victims," Austin said.

Copperas Cove police are asking residents who believe they have recently been victims of a vehicle burglary to call Detective Robert Terry at (254) 547-8222, ext. 6890.

Justice of the Peace John Guinn set Enck's bond at $50,000. As of Friday afternoon, Enck remained in jail in Copperas Cove.
