An Austin man is behind bars after police said he allegedly sexually assaulted a Harker Heights teenager.

Jonathan Alex Tijerina, 26, was arraigned Monday afternoon by Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin on a charge of sexual assault, a second-degree felony.

Tijerina was arrested by Harker Heights police after a man and woman reported finding him in their 15-year-old daughter’s bedroom Sunday, according to an arrest affidavit. The girl told police that Tijerina climbed in through her window after her parents had gone to bed. When he exited the window to urinate, he was caught by another adult, the affidavit stated.

The girl also told police she and Tijerina had been “dating” for a couple of months and the two had sex before. According to the affidavit, Tijerina admitted to having sex with the girl twice. He is in custody in Bell County jail, and bail is set at $100,000.

Potvin also arraigned the following individuals on unrelated charges Tuesday:

Jamaley Latherio Evans, 23, on a charge of possession of marijuana in an amount of less than 5 pounds, but more than 4 ounces. Evans’ bail was set at $20,000.

Taylor Marie Caudill, 18, on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, less than 1 gram. Caudill’s bail was set at $20,000.
