Killeen fire investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying an arson suspect they say has set multiple trash cans on fire on a neighborhood street since the year began.

An investigator would not specify how many fires had been set on Vernice Loop, but officials are concerned that if they continue, it could lead to a fire damaging a home. Most of the homes on Vernice Loop are four-unit apartment homes.

Anyone with information about the fires can contact the Killeen Fire Marshal’s Office at (254) 501-3582 or Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-8477 (TIPS).

Tips also can be made at www.bellcountycrimestoppers.com or by texting BELLCO along with the tip to 274367.

All tips are anonymous and can be made confidentially. A tip leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
