Killeen police arrested a driver of a Toyota Sequoia near Conder Park Tuesday after a short chase, police said.

At approximately 4:56 p.m., officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the SUV in the 1200 block of Greenwood Avenue for a traffic violation, according to an email from Killeen Police Department spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez.

“The vehicle failed to yield to an emergency vehicle and a vehicle pursuit ensued,” she said in the email.

The suspect led officers on a short pursuit and was located in the 800 block of Carrie Avenue, and was taken into custody, according to KPD.

Police did not identify the driver, who was still awaiting to be arraigned on Wednesday. | 254-501-7468
