COPPERAS COVE — Police on Friday arrested a Copperas Cove man suspected of choking another man and calling the police for being bitten. He was not in Coryell County jail as of Monday.

Justice of the Peace John Guinn arraigned Miguel Angel Reyna on a charge of assault causing bodily injury/family violence by impeding breath or circulation. Guinn set his bond at $15,000.

Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Allen Street on Friday in reference to a domestic dispute and were told a person was leaving on foot, according to an arrest affidavit.

Reyna, who was at the home when police arrived, told officers he and a male victim got into a argument. He reported the man bit him on the left arm, the affidavit stated.

Police caught up with the male victim who said the two were arguing over money, the affidavit stated. During the dispute, Reyna climbed on top of the victim, and began punching and choking him, the victim said.

The victim, who said he could not breathe, said he bit Reyna in self-defense to get his attacker off him, the affidavit stated.

Police noticed red marks on the victim’s neck. When Reyna was confronted about the marks, he told police he grabbed the victim while they were fighting, the complaint stated.

In an unrelated incident, Guinn on Saturday arraigned Anthony Kentrail-Leren Jones, 17, of Copperas Cove, on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Guinn set his bond at $10,000.

According to an arrest affidavit, Jones took the victim’s car during a sleepover and crashed it in Kempner while visiting a friend July 2. He was not given permission to drive the car.
