COPPERAS COVE — Police are looking for a suspect in a shooting that occurred May 12 on North First Street.

A complaint was filed against Ronald Warren Smith Jr., 34, charging him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was described as a 6-foot-1 black man weighing 240 pounds.

Police were sent to the 500 block of North First Street at 10:56 p.m. after a 34-year-old man was shot. He was taken to Metroplex Hospital and later transferred to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.

Witnesses told police that an argument preceded the gunshots.
