Killeen police are searching for the suspect in an attempted armed robbery Tuesday night that was thwarted when a woman hit the shotgun-wielding robber with a flower pot.

The incident occurred at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of East Hoover Avenue and Second Street.

The suspect, whom the victims described as a tall, black man with “bad teeth,” approached the couple as they were exiting their vehicle.

The suspect was armed with a shotgun and began yelling at the couple, demanding their belongings. He pulled the trigger of the gun, but it did not fire.

The couple then began to run from the suspect and the man threw an unidentified object at him.

The suspect fired the shotgun at the male, but missed.

The female then hit the suspect with a flower pot. He then ran from the scene, firing the shotgun once more. The shot hit the victims’ vehicle.

No one was injured.

During the robbery, the man wore a black ski mask, a gray hooded fleece pullover and dark-colored sweatpants.
