COPPERAS COVE — Police arrested a Copperas Cove man, believed to be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, after he allegedly attacked a woman with a steak knife.
Samson Knight Fivecoat, 24, remained in Coryell County Jail on Tuesday. Justice of the Peace John Guinn arraigned him on a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a misdemeanor charge of unlawful restraint. Guinn set his bond at $18,500 for both charges.
According to the arrest affidavit, police responded to the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue.A woman told officers that Fivecoat was walking around with a knife and could hurt himself. The woman at the scene said Fivecoat was sitting on the porch drinking a beer when he walked inside the house with a steak knife in his hand, the affidavit stated. He then allegedly pushed her against the wall.
The woman told police Fivecoat placed the knife against her throat and said she was lying to him and he was going to kill her.
The victim then pushed the knife away from her, cutting her middle finger, the affidavit stated.
Before the police arrived, Fivecoat allegedly fled the scene but was later arrested.
Guinn also arraigned the following people in unrelated incidents:
Calin Teresa Chapman, 26, of Copperas Cove, on Monday on a charge of injury to a child. Guinn set her bond at $10,000. Champan allegedly bit a 4-year-old on the thigh, according to an arrest affidavit.
Matthew Lawrence Gillespi, 32, on Saturday on a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram. Guinn set his bond at $3,000.
Timothy Vincent Johnson, 40, on Sunday on a charge of theft under $1,500 with two or more previous convictions and possession of a substance less than 1 gram. Guinn set his bond at $18,000.
Julio Cesar Graciani on Sunday on a charge of assault against a family member by impeding breath or circulation. Guinn set his bond at $10,000.
Jesse Lee Cimmino on Tuesday on a charge of driving while intoxicated third or more offense. Guinn set his bond at $10,000.
