A Killeen man was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault following a Crime Stoppers tip, Killeen police said Monday.

Carlos Derell Collins Jr., 27, was arrested Sunday in a Temple hotel by Temple police officers, according to a Killeen Police Department news release.

On Saturday, Killeen police sought the community’s help in locating Collins, who was considered armed and dangerous.

Ofelia Miramontez, a KPD spokeswoman, said officers went to the 4800 block of Peppermill Hollow around 2 a.m. Tuesday in reference to an assault.

She said the victim told officers Collins had fled the area.

Collins is currently in the Killeen City Jail awaiting arraignment.
